The Big 20/20 Event: Day 18: Visit a Busy Mom

Hello all -

As we all find ourselves caught up in daily routines, jobs, children, busy lives, we sometimes put ourselves in the background, whether by choice or forgetfulness.

We forget that we need renewal by pursuing interests that may have nothing to do with our daily lives (well, a well-deserved nap can do wonders, as well!)

I have a new online friend who is delightful and talented. I really enjoy the video she did with her daughters Little Butterfly Kisses, and thought I'd link you to another video she did.

Her name is Lisa Scott of floppinflower.com and she's had a two-part tutorial here on The Big 20/20 Event about making your own art journal.

The reason I want you to visit this link is so that you can see how patient, how unflustered, she is in the creation of this video. Why? In the background you will hear her small daughter's happy voice cheering her mother on, talking while Lisa is talking (it doesn't last the whole video). You can also catch a glimpse of her daughter's small hand slipping into view on the table next to her mom's once in awhile…you've got to be quick to catch it. Mother did not correct her child, or ask her to be quiet, or push her hand away….she let her be the little enthusiastic daughter that she seems to be.

Mother and daughter supporting each other is wonderful!

This video showed me how special this woman is by including her child in what she is doing - it didn't stop her creative play - she just kept on creating her beautiful work!!

Lisa -  doing what she loves WITH a person she loves……very cool!

So sit back and watch…….. Oil Pastel Adventure
